What is DIWASS?
The Digital Waste Shipment System is the European Commission’s central platform for cross-border waste shipments, introduced by the new Waste Shipment Regulation (EU) 2024/1157. Since 21 May 2026, every new EU waste shipment notification and Annex VII shipment goes through DIWASS instead of paper.
What changes for you
Notifications, movement documents and Annex VII information documents are now submitted electronically. Consents, confirmations of receipt and recovery certificates are exchanged digitally between you, your partners and the authorities of every country involved.
